A man was rescued from the waters of Gills Creek in the Rosewood area of Columbia, off of Devine Street, on Wednesday.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the Columbia Fire Department reported it was on the scene in the 4700 block of Devine Street for a water rescue.
That is Gills Creek, near the Liberty Income Tax store that was destroyed when the creek overflowed during the historic flooding of 2015.
Just before 7:45 p.m., a man was rescued from the water and taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Capt. Brick Lewis.
It isn’t know how, or why, the man wound up in the creek.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.
