New museum will celebrate both the pain and triumph of African-American history

It is a blight on American history that history cannot ignore: The exploitation and enslavement of black people for hundreds of years. It will be the challenge of a new museum in the nationâ™s capital to tell that story, however uncomfortable the subject might be to some, because it defines the history of African-Americans.
