Authorities have caught an Upstate prisoner who went on the lam Tuesday.
Blake Rochester, 25, was captured Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., in Cherokee County by S.C. Department of Corrections officials. Law enforcement officers from the State Law Enforcement Division and from the sheriff’s offices of Cherokee and Spartanburg counties aided in the manhunt, according to SCDC spokesman Dexter Lee.
Rochester escaped Tuesday at 8:26 a.m., from Livesay Correctional Institution, a minimum security facility in Spartanburg County. He was serving a sentence of four years, 10 months and six days for breaking into a motor vehicle, according to SCDC.
