Police have charged a man with attempted murder after they say he shot a man in downtown Columbia following an argument Monday evening.
Darrel Mosely Jr., 41, of Columbia, is accused of arguing with another man in the 1800 block of Hampton Street, then getting a gun from his apartment and shooting the victim in the upper body. The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m., according to the Columbia Police Department.
The victim was able to run to the intersection of Barnwell and Washington streets, where officers found him, police said.
EMS treated the man on the scene before taking him to a local hospital, where he has since been treated and released.

Thanks to a description of the suspect, police said, investigators were able to find Mosely soon after the shooting.
