Police arrested a mother after a stillborn infant was allegedly exposed to meth in the womb, officials said.
Chapin police began an investigation into the death of a stillborn infant Aug. 3 at a home on the 300 block of Firebridge Drive.
Toxicology tests showed the infant was exposed to methamphetamine while in utero.
Police arrested the woman who gave birth, Elizabeth Ashleigh Thompson, on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old was charged with one count of unlawful conduct toward a child, the release stated.
Thompson is being held, pending a bond hearing, at the Lexington County Detention Center.
