A Columbia man is dead and another victim is in serious condition after a bar stabbing early Saturday morning.
Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrived at Culler's bar on Monticello Road around 2 a.m. after the fatal fight had broken up.
James Lewis, 35, died of a stab wound to the upper body, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. Witnesses said Lewis and the suspect had gotten into a physical altercation, and the suspect stabbed Lewis multiple times, according to the Sheriff's Department.
A second victim, who broke up the fight between Lewis and the suspect, was also stabbed multiple times by the suspect and was in serious condition Saturday at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital, according to the Sheriff's Department.
