An early morning meeting at a Bluff Road club has left one man dead.
Charles David Whetstone, 32, of Aster Street in Columbia was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.
An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound to the upper body, Watts said.
Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of shots fired at Club Hot Rodz on Bluff Road, at about 4 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Curtis Wilson.
Investigators are questioning witnesses to determine who was responsible, Wilson said.
