Two Lee County deputies are recovering from gunshot wounds and a suspect is behind bars after a Thursday traffic stop escalated into gunfire, according to television reports.
Another deputy arrested the suspect, Yahchanan Christopher Reames.
According to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center's web page, the 52-year-old faces attempted murder and drug charges. He is awaiting a bond hearing.
Reames is out on bond with multiple charges pending in Kershaw County, according to public records. In July, Reames was released on bond following an arrest on drug and resisting arrest charges.
