Deadly crash in Orangeburg Co. caused by animal in roadway

One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Orangeburg County over the weekend.
Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the male victim was killed when his 2006 Dodge struck a tree after he attempted to avoid an animal and ran off the road.
The crash occurred on S.C. Highway 6.
The Orangeburg County Coroner's Office has not released the victim's name.
