A loud argument outside a Polk Village home in Beaufort that led to a disturbance call apparently was the result of a heated debate over a song by soul singer Barry White, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
Deputies went to a home on Third Street, where several people were screaming at one another in the front yard. A neighbor reported the commotion, worried that he had heard fighting, the report said.
Instead, the yelling was about a Barry White song, the 34-year-old woman throwing a party there told deputies. The woman, who deputies said appeared to be extremely intoxicated, said she had been arguing about White's song with someone whose name she could not remember, the report said.
As the argument escalated, others got involved in the yelling, but no fight occurred, the woman told deputies.
