Two Swansea children killed in Alabama crash

Authorities in south Alabama say a single-vehicle crash has killed three people and injured two others.

Authorities in south Alabama say a single-vehicle crash has killed three people and injured two others.

Alabama state Trooper Kevin Cook says the crash happened around 10 p.m. Sunday about five miles south of Andalusia.

Cook says 30-year-old Matthew Kenneth Douglas of Andalusia was killed when the vehicle he was driving left the road and turned over. Ryan Gibson, who was 2, and Jordan Gibson, who was 3, also died in the wreck.

Two other passengers, 25-year-old Jessica Gibson and 7-year-old Haley Gibson, were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries. The Gibsons live in Swansea, S.C.

Cook says seat belts and child restraints weren't being used at the time of the crash. All of the vehicle's occupants were ejected.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
