Deputies are looking for a man accused of assaulting a woman following a traffic accident.

A van rear-ended another car at the intersection of Bluff Road and Blair Street around 1 p.m. on March 3.

The driver of the dark blue with wood grain Plymouth Voyager jumped out of the van and told the woman she could not call the police, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

The suspect then bent the South Carolina tag on the back of his van.

When the woman got out of her car to take a picture of the suspect and his van, the suspect yelled at her, assaulted her and then sped away in the van, Sheriff Lott said.

Police say the suspect is facing assault charges and multiple driving offenses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
