Kershaw County Sheriff’s Deputies say they want to question a man about events that led to a fatal shooting.

Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said Robert Wendell Simon, 22, who is not considered a suspect, may have information about the time prior to the shooting death of Antwan Dixon. Dixon, who was shot and killed, was rescued by a deputy from his burning car on Black River Road near Camden on the morning of March 22.

Sheriff Matthews said Dixon, 25, of Camden was airlifted to Palmetto Richland Hospital, which is where doctors learned he had a bullet wound to the head.

Dixon died about 12 hours later, Matthews said.

Meanwhile, police continue to look for Robert Simon, who has ties to Kershaw, Richland and Sumter counties.

Police believe he is driving a four-door 2000 Honda Civic DX with a broken passenger side window. The car also has the S.C. tag number JAG444.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office at 803-425-1512 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
