An anonymous threat found Thursday forced a short evacuation at White Knoll High School.

Lexington District 1 officials said a student found the threat on a wall. Administrators and law enforcement officers decided to evacuate the school at 1:21 p.m. Students and staff returned to class 20 minutes later.

Emergency responders said there was never any danger to students or staff, said spokeswoman Mary Beth Hill. The district takes any incident like this very seriously, Hill said.

A 15-year-old White Knoll student was charged with ‘communicating a bomb threat’ on Wednesday, Lexington County Sheriff James Metts announced in a release.

The unidentified boy was in his mother’s custody Wednesday night.
