Richland County’s month-long drug investigation leads to five arrests

Deputies seized 65 pounds of marijuana, scales, cash, hashish oil, electronics and five vehicles in a month-long drug investigation that netted five arrests.

Ralph Pitt Jr., 37, was charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and three counts of distribution of marijuana,

Deleon Summersett, 35, and Angela Homewood, 34, were each charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of hashish oil,

Gregory Sellers, 39, and Christy Bell, 46, both were charged with trafficking marijuana.

Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests on Monday.

Lott said in a press release that after getting a tip on illegal drug activity in Richland County, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Agents served warrants on multiple locations. Deputies executed warrants Thursday at 30 Market Hall Court, Irmo, 3011 Clark Street, Columbia, and 3016 Hope Street Columbia.

Pitt, Summersett, Homewood, Sellers and Bell were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
