Columbia police are investigating the robbery Tuesday night of a shopper in the parking lot at Columbiana Centre.

The victim told officers she was mopping up spilled coffee in her car about 8:30 p.m. when two men wearing bandanas over their lower faces – one showing a pistol – approached and demanded her purse.

Her car was parked near the Belk’s store that she left shortly before the robbery, according to a report given police.

The pair fled toward Harbison Boulevard, police said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888SCRIME(274-6372).
