Columbia police are asking for the public's help in a Friday night hit and run.
The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 4000 block of Monticello Road, Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release Saturday.
Preliminary reports show that a male pedestrian was traveling southbound, crossing over Monticello Road, when a vehicle traveling westbound in the same roadway hit the pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with injuries. His condition was not known Saturday. Police are looking for a four-door, gray or silver older model vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry with significant front end damage on the driver’s side. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at (888) CRIME-SC.
