A memorial service Wednesday afternoon at Pelion High School will honor a teen killed in a Lake Erie boating accident two weeks ago.
Paige Erin-Marie Widmer, 16, died April 17 while fishing with friends and family in Ohio on spring break. Her body and that of her aunt, Amy Santus, 33, were found that day. The two men with them – Bryan Huff, 32, and Andrew Rose, 34 – have not been found.
Widmer was a junior at Pelion High School, where she was involved in volleyball, track, Hosa, sports medicine, choir, Honors choir and was a member of the student council. She was also an active member at Fairview Community Church. For the past year, she worked at Shumperts IGA as a cashier.
Family, fellow students and members of the community are invited to gather at the PHS gym at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a memorial service. Services were held last week in Ohio. Interment will be private.
