A teenager convicted of a 2012 armed robbery has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Darella Watson, 17, entered a plea deal in General Sessions court Monday.
Watson followed two sisters from a grocery store on Forest Drive to their nearby home and threatened them with a handgun on July 2, 2012, according to Columbia Police.
Watson then stole the women’s car, jewelry and purses, which contained credit cards and phones.
Police say the stolen vehicle was recovered later that same day.
Watson allegedly had an accomplice, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Both Watson and Demetrius Davis were arrested the day after the armed robbery.
Davis is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on several armed robbery and weapons charges, according to the Columbia Police Department.
