Nine people were killed on South Carolina roads over the weekend, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS).
Of those nine, three were pedestrians; one a motorcyclist; and one a moped driver. Of the four people killed in a motor vehicle, two were wearing seatbelts, and two were not, accordig to SCDPS.
There have been 248 highway deaths this year, compared to 251 last year.
The SCDPS reports that of the 184 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2014, 95 were not wearing seat belts.
