DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – The Coast Guard says a South Carolina man is missing after kayaking in the waters off a South Florida state park.
Rangers in John U. Lloyd Beach State Park alerted the Coast Guard on Friday morning about a possible missing kayaker. David Lemonds truck was spotted in the parking lot overnight. Several local kayakers said they saw Lemonds leave Thursday morning in a 12-foot yellow ocean kayak.
Coast Guard sea and air crews have launched a search of the waters off the Dania Beach park, but so far there has been no sign of Lemonds.
Lemonds' hometown in South Carolina was not released.
