A woman and her 3-year-old child escaped out of a window of a home in the Taylors area and called 911 Friday morning to report that she had been held against her will for two days, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
The call came in around 9:15 a.m. from a neighbor's home where the woman had gone after climbing out the window, said Jonathan Smith, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.
She said she was held against her will by a man for two days in a home on Bridge Road, Smith said. The man and woman knew each other, he said. She told investigators that she was repeatedly assaulted by the man during that time and waited until he was asleep to escape.
The woman was treated on scene by EMS, and the man was taken into custody, Smith said.
