Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the individual who died in a motorcycle crash on I-126 Monday evening.
Jason Wood, 32, of Columbia died at the scene Monday night after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a vehicle, according to Watts.
Watts said Wood then landed in the westbound side of the Interstate and was struck by multiple vehicles.
The crash, which happened around 9:10 p.m. Monday night, closed portions of I-126 in both directions for several hours on Monday, according to Columbia Police.
The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
