Richland County deputies looking for man wanted for attempted murder

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is looking for Adalid Marcial Gonzales, also known as Adalid-Marcial Padilla Gonazles, 29, for attempted murder among other charges.

Richland County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a man wanted for attempted murder and other charges.

Adalid Marcial Gonzales, also known as Adalid-Marcial Padilla Gonzales, 29, is wanted for attempted murder, pointing and presenting a firearm and possession of cocaine.

Gonzales has made it clear that he will not be caught by law enforcement, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

Gonzales and another man got into a verbal altercation about a girl around 7 a.m. May 10 at 3615 Percival Road.

The argument escalated when Gonzales pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the upper body and fled the area, Lott said.

The 33-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital and is still recovering, according to Lott.

Lott said after gathering information at the scene and interviewing witnesses, the investigation led to Gonzales’ residence where Sheriff’s deputies found a white-powdery substance in his room. Lott said the substance was later identified as cocaine.

Lott said Gonzales is suspected to be somewhere around the Timmonsville area.

Gonzales is described as 5-foot 10-inches tall and weighs about 165-pounds.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
