The chase continued into Newberry County, which shut down I-26, according to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office positioned themselves on exit ramps with tire deflation devices.
“The first set of Newberry County Deputies attempted deployment but did not due to heavy traffic and safety concerns,” according to a release.
Those deputies then closed the interstate as a precaution.
A second set of deputies, positioned at SC 219 (Main Street), deployed the devices.
Deputies said the suspect attempted to avoid the strips but stopped in the shoulder.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and traffic is flowing as normal.
