A 21-year-old Columbia man already in jail in connection with a Cayce restaurant robbery is now facing charges in a second robbery.

Rashaud Jamel Lee, of Apple Valley Road, was served with arrest warrants on one count each of armed robbery, possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, unlawfully carrying a firearm and seven counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday.

Arrest warrants allege before 3 a.m. July 9 the armed suspect entered a Waffle House restaurant in the 700 block of St. Andrews Road, holding seven people at gunpoint while taking $300 in cash from the restaurant’s cash register, a news release said.

The latest arrest warrants were served at the county jail, where Lee was being held in connection with another robbery at a Cayce restaurant. Details of that robbery were not available.

Sheriff’s detectives are working with Cayce Department of Public Safety and Richland County Sheriff’s Department detectives to determine whether Lee may be connected to other crimes.
