Columbia police investigators believe they have identified the suspect responsible for the robbery of the Community Bank at 4103 West Beltline Boulevard on July 29.
The suspect is identified as 52-year-old Asad Tyrone Salam (aka Gregory Tyrone Moore), police chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release. A photograph of Salam and surveillance photos from the robbery also were released.
Salam is accused of entering the bank, demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing. No weapon was shown during the commission of the crime, Holbrook said.
Anyone with information about the location of Salam is asked to call toll-free, 888-CRIME-SC or text to CRIMES (274637), and mark the beginning of the message with "TIPSC,” followed by the tip information.
