A man wanted for burglary was arrested next to the crime scene he was allegedly involved in, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Police say Kevin B. Young, 46, was charged with first degree burglary and petit larceny after he unlawfully entered a residence through an unsecured window in the 600 block of Hazelwood Road on Aug. 8.

According to the department’s Facebook post, Young allegedly stole $530 worth of items including electronics such as video game systems and DVD players, as well as coins and cigarettes.

Young was then located at a trailer located next to the crime scene and arrested by CPD South Region officers, according to Columbia Police.

Young was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
