Two men have been arrested in connection with a Monday evening armed robbery, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Jermaine Yolanda Green, 39, and Troy Jerome Benjamin, 37, have both been charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and armed robbery, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.

The two subjects are accused of entering a Coburg Lane residence around 11 p.m. Monday night and forcing a male victim into a back bedroom and demanding cash, Ravenell said.

“When the victim didn’t comply, one of the suspects fired a shot in the floor and then struck the victim in the head with a handgun,” Ravenell said. “The weapon fired when the victim was struck in the head a second time.”

Ravenell said the suspects continued to demand money and then made the victim strip and lay down on a bathroom floor before another victim begged them to leave.

A Magistrate denied bond for Green Wednesday, and Benjamin will appear before a Magistrate Thursday, according to Ravenell.
