Columbia police released a homeowner’s front porch surveillance video in an effort to solve the great lounge chair caper. Do you recognize the suspect who was captured ‘in the act’?

On August 12, a Columbia homeowner returned to her home off North Main Street on Palmetto Avenue to find someone had made off with one of the Adirondack-style lounge chairs she had on her front porch.

The surveillance video (released by CPD on their Facebook page) shows a pickup truck backing up to the house, a man knocking on the front door and then making off with one of the lounge chairs after no one answered the door. He placed the chair in the back of the pickup - which may be a Toyota - and drove off.

The stolen chair includes faded USC letters on the middle, police said in a news release.

If you recognize the suspect or know anything about the crime, Columbia Police aske that you call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

The home owner wants her chair back.
