An 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old woman are in the hospital after they were struck by objects during a fight that broke out on Sunday, according to officials with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Lt. Curtis Wilson, a department spokesman, said sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2100 block of Faraway Drive near East Boundary Road after receiving a civil disturbance and shots fired call at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Wilson said nobody was reported to be injured from the gunfire, but the two female victims were struck by objects during the fight and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Three suspects believed to be involved with the incident were taken into custody and are being held for questioning, according to Wilson.
Richland County Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate.
