Florence County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old who allegedly arranged to meet with an underage girl in order to have sex with her.

Ian James Willis, 19, of Charleston, has been charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, unlawful dissemination of obscene material to a minor and criminal solicitation of a minor, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say Willis had been communicating with an underage teen for some time.

At some point during text exchanges, Willis is alleged to have emailed explicit photographs and offered to meet the victim for the purpose of having sexual intercourse, according Sheriff Kenney Boone.

Investigators say Willis arranged to meet with the teen at a specific time and place in Florence last Thursday.

When Willis arrived at the location, he was arrested, Boone said.
