UPDATE: Orangeburg man arrested on attempted murder charges

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's department announced the arrest of Carlos Andrew Gaines before 5 p.m. Tuesday. A bond hearing will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

- PREVIOUS REPORTING - Orangeburg County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder that happened late last month.

Officers were called to the Regional Medical Center around 1 p.m. on August 23 after a 27-year-old man arrived with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

Authorities say Carlos Andrew Gaines, 28, and the 27-year-old were involved in a fight at a Kearse Drive Address on August 23.

Sheriff Ravenell said Gaines followed the victim outside the residence and fired two shots, which struck the victim in the shoulder and abdomen.

Gaines is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. Ravenell said Gaines is known to wear a gold grill.
