Irmo police discovered a mobile meth lab during a traffic stop early Monday morning, according to Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck.
Christian Bryant Shealy, 25, of Lexington and Soleiman Hanna Hattar, 47, of Irmo were arrested Monday morning when officers conducted a traffic stop on Columbiana Drive near Lake Murray Boulevard.
During the traffic stop, officers noticed something suspicious about the two men inside the car, Chief Brian Buck said.
It was about 30 degrees outside, and the two men were wearing shorts, T-shirts and sweating profusely, Buck said. The men were removed from the car and officers found a two liter bottle with a boiling liquid inside.
Richland County Sheriff’s deputies and the Columbia Richland Fire Department Hazardous Materials team were called to the scene, Buck said.
The two men were checked by EMS before being taken to jail.
