Richland County authorities have charged Eric Johnson, 37, of Columbia, with breaking into a car parked on Fernandina Road in October 2014, stealing a wallet and then using a credit card to steal $3,600 from the victim’s bank account.
Johnson was identified in a call to Crimestoppers after the sheriff’s department released a surveillance photo purporting to show Johnson at a Bank of America ATM machine on Harbison Boulevard stealing $3,600 from the victim’s bank account. Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.
Johnson was also wanted on old warrants for criminal domestic violence and possession of cocaine.
Johnson was being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Friday night.
