The University of South Carolina’s Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice announced plans for a candlelight vigil Monday in honor of one of their own, slain USC student Diamoney Greene.
In a FaceBook posting Friday, the notice said the vigil is being sponsored by the student organizations Alpha Phi Sigma and Lambda Alpha Epsilon. The event will be held Monday, November 17, at 6pm on the USC Horseshoe side of Currell College (which is located behind the Rutledge building on the McKissick Library end of the USC Horseshoe.)
Greene, 20, was found shot to death in her apartment at the Copper Beech complex, along with 21-year-old Brandon Early, who had shot her, then himself in an apparent murder-suicide, according to Richland County officials.
Greene attended S.C. State University and was a part of the cheerleading team before transferring to the University of South Carolina to pursue a degree in criminology and criminal justice.
