A farmer had to put down one of his cows after it was injured by three dogs who attacked it, according to an incident report filed with the sheriff’s department.
Union County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Bishop Road in Union on Tuesday after receiving a call of an animal attack. The report said deputies met with the victim who told them he received the call about the attack from a friend who was hunting on his property.
The victim said his friend spotted two large black dogs and one brown dog attacking the cow in its pasture. The cow, estimated to cost $1,500, had to be destroyed because of its injuries.
The report said the victim is unsure who the dogs belong to and was unable to locate the dogs after the attack.
