Lexington firefighters have a structure fire under control early Tuesday morning after receiving a call about a business on fire, according to Assistant Fire Chief David Fulmer.
Fulmer said the firefighters responded to a Mead and Hunt building located at 322 West Main Street off Columbia Avenue just before 7 a.m. The company uses the building to store high-tech engineering equipment, Fulmer said.
Fulmer said firefighters will do a walk-through of the building to determine the cause of the fire. The damage estimate has not yet been determined.
There were no injuries reported and no one was inside the business when the fire started. Commuters in the area should be cautious while driving and expect delays as fire crews are still working at the scene.
