Two people are seriously injured and one woman is charged with a felony after a pair of early-morning road collisions Saturday.
The first occurred just after 2 a.m. in the 900 block of Leesburg Road when one car traveling west allegedly hit another car that was broken down in the westbound lane, according to Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons. The first car flipped over several times, and its driver was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Timmons said.
Then around 2:30 a.m. in an unrelated incident on I-126 near Greystone Boulevard, a car traveling in the wrong direction in one of the westbound lanes struck another car head-on, according to Timmons.
The driver of the first car, Bobbie Rae Lee, 28, is charged with felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury. Her passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Lee was being detained at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center as of Saturday afternoon.
