A 38-year-old man was sentenced Monday in connection with the armed robbery of a Lugoff bank, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Chad Moore of Lugoff was sentenced to 195 months in federal prison for the Feb. 11, 2008 robbery of a First Citizens Bank in Lugoff. A second man, Reginald Watson, was sentenced to 154 months in federal prison last week.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the robbers entered the bank in dark clothing and goggles, with one holding a gun to employees and the other jumping over the counter to remove money from the teller’s drawers. The two then fled.
The case was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.
