Police have captured a South Carolina prison inmate who walked away last week from a job site.
Derrick Gamble was arrested at a hotel in Hopkins on U.S. 378, the S.C. Department of Corrections said. He has been taken to the Broad River Correctional Institution and will be charged with felony escape.
Police also arrested a woman who was with Gamble at the hotel. Eyvonne Gregg, 39, has been charged with aiding and abetting an escapee, the corrections department said.
Gamble was serving a two-year sentence for habitual traffic offenses at Palmer Pre-Release Center in Florence when he walked away from his job.
