Prosecutors say police are investigating threats against two witnesses in the trial of five men convicted of shooting an Orangeburg man two dozen times earlier this year.
Prosecutor David Pascoe said two witnesses had been threatened, but testified anyway.
A jury on Friday convicted the five Orangeburg men of murder, armed robbery and burglary in the March 12 death of Charles Pringle at his home.
Mario Shivers, 21, was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Two brothers, Ralph Coleman, 22, and Christian Coleman, 21, were sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Danny Ryant, 20, was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Walter Harris, 21, was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
