A Lexington County drug dealer was sentenced Wednesday to more than 12 years in federal prison.
David Scott Browder, 38, of Chapin was convicted by a federal jury in January on charges of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, being a felon in possession of a handgun and skipping out on his bond, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported.
In September 2006, Browder sold 505 grams of cocaine to an undercover officer. Investigators later searched his mobile home and found another 250 grams of cocaine and a gun, the U.S. attorney said.
He was supposed to go to trial in November 2009 but fled the state. U.S. marshals captured Browder in September in West Palm Beach, Fla.
