A Rock Hill woman who last year police say beat a taxi cab with an antenna is now accused of appearing in court on Wednesday drunk, according to authorities.

Officers were speaking with Megan Szraga, 27, at about 10:30 a.m. when they smelled alcohol on her breath, according to a Rock Hill Police report. Szraga initially told police she didn’t have anything to drink.

After police pressed her about the issue, she admitted to drinking the night before and drinking a double shot of vodka 30 minutes before she arrived to court at 9 a.m., the report states. Police administered the breath analysis test and determined that her blood alcohol concentration was 0.21. The state legal limit is .08.

Szraga was arrested and taken to jail, where she was cited for public disorderly intoxication.

Szraga is the wife of George Szraga, a Rock Hill man accused in January of forcing his three young children to drink vodka.

Last October, police launched an investigation after a person allegedly witnessed George Szraga making the children – a 10-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl – drink vodka on several occasions. He was charged with three counts of unlawful neglect of a child.

His case is still pending in court.

Last October is also when police arrested Megan Szraga, accusing her of ripping the antenna off a taxi cab and then beating the car with it.

A cab driver with AAAA Veteran’s Cab Co. on West White Street told police she drove Szraga to the business when Szraga “decided to start damaging the cab,” according to a police report.

Szraga allegedly ripped off the cab’s antenna and began hitting the car with it, as well as the doors to the cab business. She was charged with damage to property and public disorderly intoxication.

She pleaded guilty to those charges in late October, but received credit for the days she served in jail since her arrest, said Rock Hill Clerk of Court Diane Anderson.

In that time, Megan Szraga was twice charged with criminal domestic violence, Anderson said. One of those charges was dismissed in November, but she pleaded guilty to the other one in December.

She was due in court on Wednesday, Anderson said, because she was the victim of a crime.

It’s unclear what she fell victim to, but police documents show that she accused her husband of assaulting her while she was asleep on Christmas Day. According to Megan Szraga, her husband burned her with a lit cigarette and threatened to kill her.

In December, she also pleaded guilty in to third-degree assault and battery after police say she assaulted a woman, grabbing her arms and causing scratches and bruises, according to a Rock Hill Police arrest warrant. She also hit the woman in the nose, causing a possible break or fracture, the warrant reads.

She was given credit for time served.
