Suspect(s) sought in Sumter drive-by shooting

A stop at the corner store left a man with a bullet in his arm Wednesday night.

The shooting reportedly happened about 11:57 p.m. when the victim stopped at a supermarket in the 1000 block of Manning Avenue. As he was walking into the store, the victim said a gray, four-door car driven by an unknown man passed by and someone fired eight to 10 shots at him. One of the shots reportedly struck the victim in the right arm.

The victim was able to speak with officers at the scene and was transported to Tuomey Regional Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services. Video footage from the store's security camera was pulled to see if the vehicle or its occupants could be identified.
