Three people have been arrested in connection with this week’s fatal shooting of a 26-year-old Lexington County man.
The State Law Enforcement Division on Thursday announced the arrests of Brandon Lee Pham, Pamela Shae Norris and Ashley Dawn Spencer in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Austin Chandler. All three were placed in the Lexington County Detention Center
Pham, 32, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to SLED. Norris, 34, and Spencer, 33, were each charged with accessory after the fact to murder and interference, hindering officers serving a warrant or rescuing prisoners.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department asked SLED to investigate because Chandler is related to an employee of the sheriff’s department. The sheriff’s department has not said who that person is.
Agents say Pham shot Chandler multiple times at Chandler’s home on Glasgo Lane around 8:20 p.m. Monday. Chandler was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Pham initiated an altercation with Chandler shortly after arriving at the residence,” states the warrant charging Pham with murder. “As a witness attempted to step in between Pham and Chandler, Pham shot Chandler several times.”
Chandler collapsed in the back of the garage as Pham fled, the warrant says. A witness told agents they saw Pham place what looked like a firearm in the front of his pants after the shooting.
Norris was at the Glasgo Lane home when the shooting happened, warrants state. She “sought (Pham) out and spent the night with him” after she was interviewed by SLED agents on Tuesday, and knew he was wanted for murder, according to her warrant for accessory after the fact. When Pham was arrested Wednesday, he had Norris’ signed, written statement that she gave to law enforcement the day before.
Law enforcement was called to Sandra Drive in Pelion on Wednesday after EMS responded to a physical altercation between Pham and Norris, according to the warrant. When EMS arrived, Pham fled and was later captured by police.
Spencer’s two charges stem from her giving Pham a ride on Wednesday, warrants state. A witness said Pham got into a small tan pickup on Bushberry Road in Pelion. Agents found Spencer at a home on the 100 block of Sandra Drive in Pelion, and she told agents she picked Pham up from Bushberry Road and drove him to the address on Sandra Drive.
“She advised that she knew he was wanted for murder and the truck belonged to her boyfriend,” the warrant states.
