The Columbia man suspected of disguising himself as a woman May 30th to rob the Bank of America branch located at 215 West Street in Lexington was taken into custody in Fayettville, North Carolina, Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said Wednesday afternoon in a news release.
The 25-year-old Columbia man is suspected of donning a long black dress, colorful head cover and dark sunglasses to disguise himself in the robbery, Lexington Police said in releasing surveillance photos from the robbery as well as the suspect’s mugshot on June 2.
Jacobs is accused of threatening the bank clerk with violence if she did not hand over cash. The suspect fled the bank into a nearby wooded area with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
J’Neil Jacobs was taken into custody without incident and being held awaiting a bond and extradition hearing on Thursday in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
