Suspects who fired at a Miriam Avenue home just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, killing a dog inside and missing a child, are being sought by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
There were nine people in the house and the suspects are wanted on nine counts of attempted murder and animal cruelty, Sheriff Leon Lott said. They also shot vehicles outside the home.
Lott said the dog, a family pet, was sitting beside a 9-year-old boy and possibly could have been hit by shots that otherwise would have killed the child. Lott said it didn’t appear to be a random act of violence.
