A 24-year-old man denied bond on Tueday after being charged with attempted murder and other offenses after an argument Monday night escalated into gunfire, the Lexington County Sheriff Department said on Tuesday.
Tony Robinson was charged Monday night with attempted murder, possessing a weapon during a violent crime and unlawfully carrying a pistol.
The incident began Monday night in the parking lot of a convenience on the Augusta Highway in Batesburg-Leesville.
Robinson allegedly got into an argument with two people in the parking lot of 6670 Augusta Highway when the argument escalated.
“He fired multiple shots at them and their car but no one was struck,” Sheriff Jay Koon said.
After the shots rang out, everyone fled the scene, Koon said. Robinson was stopped and detained by two police offices of the Batesburg-Leesville police department and then turned over to Lexington deputies.
He was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Tuesday night.
