Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department had to enter a home Monday night to break up a domestic situation with a weapon after advising neighbors to to “shelter in place.”
After 8 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on the 100 block of North Crescent Lake Way in Blythewood, where they witnessed a verbal and physical altercation as a husband assaulted his wife, according to public information officer Lt. Curtis Wilson.
Deputies made entry into the residence and the man was arrested, said Wilson, adding the suspect is expected to be taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
There were no serious injuries to the woman involved in the incident, or to any of the other individuals in the home, Wilson said.

The man who was arrested has not been identified, and the sheriff’s department hasn’t said what weapon was involved in the incident.
